We are please to announce that we have purchased new anti-spam and anti-virus systems for our new email servers to cut down on these sort of problems. We have tested this system with 500 accounts and the results excellent. Spam is reduced by 95%.
Web-Based Email Access
With these new systems come some minor changes in how you access your email and configure your email software. In the past, you’ve been able to access your Imail administration in a web browser via an address like:
- http://yourdomain.com:8383 (old way).
The upgrades to our systems now allow you to access your Imail administration via:
- http://mail.yourdomain.com (new way). The :8383 on the end is no longer needed.
NOTE: For user/account/login, you must now use your full email address.
Three changes are necessary to ensure the functionality of your email:
|1. Reset User Account Passwords|
Your accounts will be imported to the new server, but passwords will need to be reset for your users. We reset the admin password to the same password that is used for control panel access. Remember to use your full email address for the user ID.
|2. Change Your Account Settings in Your Email Software|
The only change in your email client is that you must now use your full email address for the user, account, or login.
For example, if your email is email@example.com, your previous user name or account setting would've just been "john". This field now needs to have the whole email address for your email account, like "firstname.lastname@example.org."
